Help for Families of Persons with Mental Illness Announced
The National Alliance on Mental Illness Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. Participants gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances. The free NAMI Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to be heard and to get what they need.
The Mid-Tidewater Affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness announces three new Family Support Groups on the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. The groups are
Lancaster Community Library - first Thursday of the month from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Gloucester Main Library – second Wednesday of the month 6:30-8:00 p.m.
84 Main Peer Resource Center, Warsaw – last Wednesday of each month (beginning September 27th) 6:30-8:00 p.m.
The established Family Support Groups will continue to meet.
Urbanna Baptist Church - third Monday of the month 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Indian View Baptist Church, King William – third Thursday 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
